| In 1936, an artist named Dewees Cochran began sculpting very special dolls for Effanbee®. The artist modeled these dolls to look like real little girls. After Robert Tonner’s acquisition of Effanbee® Doll Company, he was inspired by these sculpts and updated the collection with new faces and clothing to represent little girls of today.
